Pottery has long been a major part of Val’s life, and she continues to find it an endlessly fascinating craft to practise. Inspiration for her hand built work comes mostly from the natural environment, often using the effects of camouflage to create subtle finishes. A particular interest is the use of agate clay detailing and glazing with micro-crystalline glazes.
