Fiona Thomson

I am a Scottish Artist working from my studio in rural Aberdeenshire. I have an MA (hons) degree from Aberdeen University and a post-graduate MFA degree from Gray's School of Art at the Robert Gordon University.

I exhibit throughout the UK and my paintings are in collections in the UK and Overseas. In 2021 my painting 'Perch' was long-listed for the Scottish Portrait Awards. I have also exhibited at Bonhams in Edinburgh, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Battersea Art Fair in London.  In 2017 I won the 'Robert Fountain Best Original Print Award' at the Society of Equestrian Artists for a dry point etching of a Shetland Pony.

I currently work in Oils and Watercolour but also have extensive experience with various Printmaking techniques, illustration, and photography.  I paint expressively and freely with a deep love of colour.  I love to see the texture of paint and use energetic brushstrokes to keep my paintings impressionistic and lively with just that magic touch of detail!
