Iain graduated from Gray’s School of Art after a career in the oil industry, He was awarded 1st Prize of the The David Trust Fund award at Edinburgh’s RSA before graduating.
Iain’s work is dictated from rhythm, narrative, colour and landscapes particularly around Spain and the Mediterranean. They include memories, cypress and cedar trees, white buildings, horizons and stillness, the fecundity of everything, around sunshine and the light sunshine brings. Iain has also painted some more local Scottish scenes with his distinctive colour palate. He often injects a little humorous narrative in his works
Iain remains a popular artist and his work is collected both locally and worldwide.
