Penelope Timmis

Penelope has painted for her entire life and ​started selling paintings 17 years ago and has since had a huge number of solo exhibitions. She lives in a converted chapel in the Shropshire Hills and now exhibits her work in over 30 galleries Internationally.  Well known for her “Fowl”, “Flowers” and “Land and Seascape” paintings, her style is very distinctive. 

 

Born in Kingston-upon-Thames in London in 1956. Penelope has lived in Shropshire for 30 years. She studied art in Shrewsbury and the Froebel Institute in Roehampton. After a long gap (whilst bringing up a family) she returned to painting seriously in 2003. Since that time, she has had various joint and one woman shows.

 

Having studied at the Froebel Institute in Roehampton and in Shrewsbury, she is a prolific artist and exhibits Internationally.  Penelope is an elected Associate of the Birmingham Society of the Arts and an Associate of the Society of Women Artists.

Colour, movement and life are the key elements of Penelope's work. ​A Member of The Society of Women Artist and Fellow of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, she has achieved a number of awards.
